Disposable probes are sold as sterile, single use devices. The probe is intended for use during surgery to detect or stimulate nerve action potentials. On some probes, the electrodes have a different color, and the lead wire is color coded. The black lead wire is attached to the black/active electrode and the white lead wire to the white/return electrode. Attach to the recording or stimulation equipment appropriately.
Disposable Probes are indicated to perform stimulation and recording of neural tissue and to locate, identify, and monitor cranial motor nerves, peripheral nerves, and spinal nerve roots during surgery. The probe is an accessory to the stimulation or recording equipment, which provides the stimulation voltage or current.
The Stimulation Probes are made from stainless steel with a handle specifically designed for optimal grip and control for the surgeon. Each Probe has been designed with specific procedures in mind.
